Pigeons roosting on my home
Pigeons like to roost on the roof, under eaves, on top of air conditioning units, and any other protected spots. If they can get in, pigeons will also roost inside the ceiling space. Their favourite spot is under solar panels.
How to get rid of pigeons from my home
There are a number of ways to get rid of pigeons. Some methods work and some don’t. The fastest way to remove pigeons is with an air rifle. In fact, this is the only sure way to get rid of them. With an air rifle, you definately know they won’t be coming back.
Plastic owls

Ultrasonic noises

Spraying with the hose
Spraying them with the hose doesn’t keep them away.
Clearing out their nests

Netting may not work
Netting can exclude pigeons from roosting at a particular spot. However, what typically happens is the pigeons simply shift along a bit and roost in the next spot.
Spikes may not work
Spikes don’t keep them away. Spikes will stop them from sitting at a particular spot. However, all that happens is the pigeons simply shift along a bit. So if spikes are being used, every possible roosting spot needs to be covered in spikes. Nonetheless, we have even seen pigeons nesting in spikes!
Trapping may not work
Trapping is difficult. And sometimes it doesn’t work. Its difficult to get pigeons to enter a trap, since they already have their local feeding spots.
Narcotic poisoning
Narcotic poisoning can work, but its a long, intensive, multi-week process.
Air rifle is effective
Usually the quickest way to remove pigeons is with an air rifle. In fact, this is usually the only sure way to get rid of them. With an air rifle, you know they’re not coming back. That’s because its always the same pigeons coming back each night. Not different ones. All other pigeons around the neighbourhood have their homes- which they won’t leave because pigeons have a strong homing instinct. So once your pigeons are removed with an air rifle, you wouldn’t expect any other pigeons to come. You’ll be pigeon-free. You’ll be as likely to get pigeons in the future as your neighbours are.
