Pigeons in warehouse
Pigeon like to roost in warehouses. They are out of the elements at night, and can come and go during the day when the roller doors are open. Even when the roller doors get closed, there is usually a gap above the roller door through which they can enter and leave. Pigeons like to make their nests inside warehouses because the rafters are high and provide ample nesting spots. They would normally fly in during late afternoon before the roller doors close, and leave in the morning when the doors open.
How to remove pigeons in warehouse
The only way to remove pigeons is with an air rifle. Spikes and netting are not options. Owls and ultrasonic noise deterrents don’t work. Trapping them to set them free doesn’t work- they fly straight back. Narcotic poisoning can work, but its a long multi-week intensive process.
Perth warehouses with pigeon problems
Warehouses within pigeon flight range of the Kewdale grain terminal (and Milne Feeds in Welshpool) can end up with roosting pigeons. The pigeons will be feeding at the grain terminal during the day, then returning to their roosting workshops at night. Kwinana area warehouses also get pigeons. These pigeons are feeding at the Rockingham grain export terminal.
