Pigeons in workshop

Pigeons often roost in workshops because once inside they are protected from the elements. How to remove pigeons from a workhop.

Pigeons roosting in workshop

Pigeon like to roost in workshops. They can come and go as they like, usually through the gap above the roller doors. Noise and workshop activity doesn’t deter them. Its easy to find the spots where they are roosting- their droppings pile up on the floor immediately below. Over time their numbers usually increase, rather than decrease. Eventually they become a problem.

How to remove pigeons in worshop

Typically the only way to remove pigeons in a workshop is with an air rifle. Spikes and netting are not options because the expanse of rafters is too great. Owls and ultrasonic noise deterrents don’t work. Trapping them to set them free doesn’t work- they fly straight back. Narcotic poisoning can work, but its a long multi-week intensive process.

Workshops in Perth with pigeons

Workshops within pigeon flight range of the Kewdale grain terminal (and Milne Feeds in Welshpool) can end up with pigeons. The pigeons will be feeding at the grain terminal during the day, then returning to their roosting workshops at night. Kwinana area workshops also get pigeons. These pigeons are feeding at the Rockingham grain export terminal.
